Promoting a healthy workforce
Employee well-being is a key component of the SportPark offer with staff able to access University sports facilities, fitness classes and healthy living expertise at special University staff rates.
Physical activity is integral to SportPark’s design and developers have worked with experts in the University’s Sports Technology Institute and Sports Development Centre to incorporate hi tech gadgetry and innovative health and fitness equipment into its parkland surroundings. Dedicated spaces include an activity lawn, an energy track with innovative bespoke training stations and pitch markings on one of the car parks to encourage out of hours team sports.
A separate men’s and women’s changing block and integrated unisex changing facilities in SportPark itself encourage staff to take part in physical activity before and after work and during lunch breaks.
SportPark has a number of thriving activities including pilates and running clubs for all abilities at lunchtime, a cycle loan scheme will allow workers to take a break from their desk and enjoy trips into the local countryside. A sport and social scene led by the tenants themselves is emerging to organise competitions and leagues in a variety of sports and to stage social events.
